Originated in Dasheri village near Kakori in Lucknow in the 18th century. Known as the ‘Mother’ mango to many varieties found in the northern region of India, Dasheri mangoes are long and oval-shaped, with a light green or yellow-green skin when mature, becoming golden yellow when ripe. Dasheri mangoes are considered “table” mangoes, meaning they are most often eaten fresh, out of hand. They are sweet in taste, great for pulp, and have fiberless, peach-colored flesh with a medium-sized stone. Although Dasheri mangoes are grown in many parts of the country, the Maliahabad region is considered to be the mother of all the Dasheri mangoes. The average size of Dasheri is 180-250g. The sensuous Dasheri with its breathtaking shades of golden-yellow is meticulously hand-picked from the extensive orchards of Aamrai and delivered to you fresh right at the doorstep. Life couldn’t get sweeter than this!
