The Jarda mango is from Champaran in Bihar as well as parts of West Bengal. The name is derived from the aromatic paan masala which is similar to the distinct aroma and taste of the jarda mango. The soil of the chamaparan region is what lends this taste and aroma to the fruit and attempts to grow it outside this region have not yielded results. They key distinguishing factor is the aroma and taste which is unlike any other mango.
Our standard box has a minimum fruit weight of 2.5 kgs. A 15-20% weight loss may occur due to moisture loss while ripening.
